Book 8 of 2006: Teacher Man, Frank McCourt. Memoir, 1-28, pp. 258.OK, it's not Angela's Ashes and how many books, even one by the same author, can be? But Teacher Man grows on you. It starts slow, like McCourt's career as a teacher in New York, but ends strong. Part III, his account of his years teaching creative writing at Stuyvesant High School is especially engaging. McCourt was a creative, caring, committed teacher. He's a pretty darned good writer, too.
